Huddin is built by people who hate creepy data practices. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect and why.
1. What this policy covers
This policy describes how Lodos ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use Huddin — including the marketing website, the in-app product, and any associated voice and video services.
If you act on behalf of a community as its organizer, this policy also describes how we process member data under your direction.
2. Information we collect
Account information you provide when you sign up: name, email address, password (stored as a salted hash), and any optional profile details.
Content you create: messages, announcements, gallery uploads, channel metadata, and similar in-app content. Voice and video are transported through LiveKit and are not recorded by default.
Operational telemetry: device type, browser, IP-derived region, and aggregated usage metrics. We use this to keep the service running and to debug issues.
3. How we use information
To run the Huddin product and the communities hosted on it.
To send service emails (account verification, password resets, important security notices). We send marketing emails only after explicit opt-in.
To improve the product through anonymized usage analytics. Marketing analytics on the website are gated behind your cookie consent.
4. How LiveKit fits in
Voice rooms and DM voice/video calls use LiveKit as the real-time transport. Audio and video are streamed through LiveKit servers but are not recorded by default; signaling metadata (room joins/leaves, mute state) is processed to keep the call running and is retained only as long as the call session.
When recording is enabled for a meeting or stage room (Pro/Enterprise feature), recordings are stored encrypted and accessible only to the community that owns them.
5. Sharing
We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers.
We share data with infrastructure providers (LiveKit, our hosting platform, our email provider) strictly to deliver the service. Each provider operates under data-processing terms we have reviewed.
If required by law, we will comply with a valid legal request — but we will notify the affected community where we are legally permitted to do so.
6. Your rights
You can export your data at any time from Settings. You can delete your account, and we will remove your personal data within 30 days (some content posted in shared spaces may remain in the community's archive, attributed to your former handle).
If you are in a jurisdiction that grants you specific rights (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), you may exercise those rights by contacting info@lodos.io.
